Solstice
The rising full moon against the dusky sky and lengthening shadows of bare trees are one of my favorite times to take to the woods for a winter solstice night hike. The round moon with a ring of hazy light and the light and shadows from our headlamps inspired this art quilt. Pieced from vintage linens, hand dyed cottons with waxed linen and hand stitching details this piece portrays the promise of the lengthening of days.
21” X 21” X 3” Art Quilt sealed with acrylic and mounted on wooden cradle panel. Framed in a natural maple solid wood floater frame.
